My name is Maiyo and I’m Japanese-American, born and raised in New York City. My mom is from Kyoto and my dad is from Nara, but this is my first time living in Japan and it’s been really great so far :)

Before I moved to Kobe, I was living in Brooklyn and working at an environmental law non-profit organization. I really love nature, hiking and caring about the environment.

I’m also an artist, and enjoy photography, painting, and all sorts of crafty, creative hobbies. I hope we can talk about the arts, the environment, and so much more together!
