Hello, my name is Mhairie Claire Alvarez Miller but please feel free to call me MC!
I am from Singapore, but I also have nationalities from Mexico and Scotland because my father is Mexican, and my mother is Scottish.
I went to an international school in Singapore for my primary and secondary education. I have been living in Osaka, Japan for over 4 years to complete my higher education. I graduated with a bachelor’s in Engineering in September 2019 and started my master’s degree in October 2019, both for Applied Chemistry at Osaka University. I am currently researching in a chemistry laboratory for my master’s program.

My main hobby is cooking and eating food! But I also love bouldering, singing, traveling, and recently I have been practicing skateboarding. I used to work full-time as an Admissions executive for an international primary school in Singapore before starting university. I met a lot of families from around the world and many of them were Japanese. I have been working as a conversational English home tutor in Osaka for a year before joining Premium Cafe Eikaiwa.
I love learning about different people and cultures, so I am hoping to learn more about Japan through talking with you. I look forward to meeting you and having fun conversations!
